Progress Update.
Greetings, sweeper of the streets, otherwise known as Eradicators. It's been quite a while and I can explain, no, really I can!
I have been steadily working on The Eradicators, I fixed and improved some things, I worked on a whole new gamemode/map (more to that later), a new enemy (a boss enemy in fact hehe) and I'm right now designing the new weapon (part of a new system im testing AS WE SPEAK!). Also, life sure is crazy sometimes, I was so distracted by its beauty that I never found time or inspiration to work on The Eradicators even though it's my #1 passion project. CHAMPAGNE! CHAMPAGNE FOR EVERYONE!
New Gamemode? New Map? Campaign? What the?
I had a tough time deciding how I would split up the maps. First, my design philosophy was that I split the game into different gamemodes, with each gamemode having it's own group of maps. I have let some people review this system and I came to the conclusion that its not worth it to have the maps separated by gamemodes. Why? The core of the game is supposed to be an endless horde shooter. Having a set mission type would limit the player's decision to either continue to play or extract back to the mother base. It is now safe to say that I scrapped this system.
But replaced it with what?
My second thought was to make a campaign system like in the game Left 4 Dead 2. Now, it would add a ton of replayability thats for sure but there are MAJOR problems with that. Firstly, I don't have the time or resources to make something as big as that and also again, "it would limit the player's decision to either continue to play or extract back to the mother base.".
To get to the point...
Every map is technically endless now BUT!!!!! Each map will have its own fun gimmick and interesting story elements to make each map unique and replayable.

You will be taking a trip underground to THE CAVE TOWN. THE CAVE TOWN has been experiencing extreme electricity outages caused by anomalies meddling with the generators. Your job is to KILL KILL KILL and do some handy work on the generator.
I can't say too much about the new boss enemy as there isn't much to talk about yet because I only finished the design and model.
You need more tools to KILL with!
The Agency only provides its agents with the finest tools of espionage and maiming. Although as an Eradicator, you are the least priority of the agency's supply list, you are provided with powerful weapons. I introduce you to the agency supply drop! You can find supply stations and order a mighty weapon. It won't be part of your standard arsenal. It uses special ammunition that slowly regenerates. Right now the only agency-supplied weapon is the BOLT SLINGER. It is a slick lever-action rifle that shoots explosive bolts that penetrates enemies.
Right, im totally convinced that you read through all of this with your highest attention. Totally. Anyway its time for me to go back to work. I will release a build of the game soon with the reworked map selection system and... THE NEW CAVE TOWNMAP!
