Alpha 1.0 Release! A must read!


What happened? Have I been hit by a rock thrown a Neanderthal? What is my excuse? Life got too busy for me so I had almost NO! time working on my game. After things semi-calmed down, I dusted off and moved on to continue development. The total development time for Alpha 1.0 was 1 month, most of the time was spent slamming my keyboard against my forehead while programming. I experienced failure and sorrow, success and happiness. 

Right, I bet you are so eager to see what I was working on, that you are about to explode into a visceral confetti mess the whole time you rascal! 

So here it is:

ALPHA 1.0

The Steampump.


As promised, your arsenal just got brighter. Fresh from the factory floor, engineered by the brightest minds at the Sentinel Agency we introduce the Steampump, filled with 8 slugs of wrath and joy! Now... enjoy your shiny new toy!

New Weapon: The Cutlass.


The death toll of Eradicators getting killed by being cornered by Anomalies is so astronomically high, that scientists at the Sentinel Agency had to invent completely new numbers that haven't existed before... and a new weapon. That's right, Eradicators are now equipped with a shiny and slick Cutlass. Wield it with pride and treat it with utmost loyalty

DEV NOTE: If you had the Steampump equipped when using the Cutlass, make sure to press T to switch your weapon, its a bit buggy right now.

New Anomaly: The Packwark.


Recon units indicate that a new bulky type of Anomaly has been roaming around the Plaza area. They described it as a slow but also as if an Anomaly was on very crazy Steroids. Its arms are so large it might as well wank with both oh I mean WACK with both. Our researchers gave us the following statistics on the intel that has been given by our very brave and honourable recon units.

50 Points of Damage

Very slow walking speed.

New Ability: Shoving.

Now. We know that a sleek Cutlass might not be the only solution, try using your arms to shove these wretched things away!

Press the Right-Mouse-Button to shove an Anomaly. You can't shove Packwarks. After you shoved an Anomaly, shoving has a 3 second cooldown.

DEV NOTE: Right now shoving won't push Anomalies away because I gotta rework some stuff of how the Anomaly code works. For now Anomalies are stunned by shoving.

New Logo and Typo fixed.

Yeah. It's fixed. Also, it's fancier now! 


The Plaza, remade from scratch! 

I won't go into much detail about the new Plaza, I will leave the exploring to the player. Though have a few screenshots if you will.




Now let's head on over to the Misc... Misc... Mischief... OH! Miscellaneous changes shall we?

Fixes

  • Fixed Anomalies colliding with ammo pick ups.
  • Fixed blurry textures.
  • Fixed being able to spam the extraction call.
  • Fixed being unable to close the pause menu via resume button.
  • Fixed being unable to open the options menu in game.
  • Fixed Hud disappearing after closing the pause menu.

Changes

  • Changed sprint speed from 900 to 1000. There is actually a noticeable difference believe it or not.
  • Ammo and health supplies dropped by killed anomalies despawn now after 45 seconds.
  • Anomalies ragdoll now. It's not refined and ragdolls will spazz out and fly around sometimes. I will work on it during further development dontcha' worry!
  • Extraction summoner and the extraction zone now have models. The extraction summoner has no texture right now. the extraction zone is a red ladder with a bright red light.

What to expect in Alpha 1.5:

  • Point System (Collect points by killing anomalies to unlock new areas and machines.. kinda like... oh.)
  • Perk system (With the point system you can purchase perks from a trader. Don't worry the game will pause when you talk with the perk trader)
  • Medal system (Will work like achievements but you will unlock viewable medals in a new room in the HQ, each medal reveals a bit of lore)
  • Killstreak system (Get motivated!)
